Karrow and McHose tear into new school funding formula 

     TRENTON (4/10/08) – Two women budget committee members of the N.J. State Assembly today demanded that the Corzine Administration drastically revise the new state school funding formula that unfairly rewards mismanaged urban district like Union City in Hudson County and penalizes suburban districts that are having to reduce and eliminate important school activities because of flat state aid for the past seven years. Full Story

     SPARTA (4/10/08) – The 24th Legislative District representatives are vehemently opposed to any proposal to toll Routes 78 and 80 to pay for the proposed trans-Hudson tunnel and have taken exception to Assembly Majority Leader Joseph Cryan’s proposal that the state should even consider it. Scapicchio sees agreement coming on Budd Lake land and boathouse plan 

    MOUNT OLIVE (4/09/08) – It took a little time but Mayor David Scapicchio is confident the Township Council will approve a proposal at the April 22 Council meeting to accept more than $275,000 in state and county grants to purchase several hundred feet of Budd Lake beachfront as well as an area to expand parking, a building that was at one time a restaurant and bar and a boat ramp.  Full Story

McHose still fighting Ag. Dept. demise proposes shifting related DEP jobs into it 

      SPARTA (4/05/08) - Assemblywoman Alison Littell McHose today said she was stunned that it appears nobody with expertise in the agriculture industry was consulted before Gov. Corzine proposed eliminating the Department of Agriculture and reiterated her stance that the downside of losing the department will far outweigh possible cost savings. Full Story

McHose livid over Corzine proposal  to close parks in Republican areas 

        SPARTA (4/2/08) - A fired up Assemblywoman Alison Littell McHose expressed outrage at the NJ Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) announcement today that it will close at least nine state parks and cut services at three others at the height of the summer tourist season.  The proposal, she said, was in Governor Jon Corzine’s proposed budget cuts.
