arrested on gun charge

    MOUNT OLIVE (12/13/08) – Matthew Pickett, 19, of Budd Lake was arrested yesterday on a charge of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Criminal Mischief.  He was released yesterday pending a court hearing.

    According to Officers Amy Clymer and Eric Krouse they responded to a call from a resident in the Village Green Apartment Complex that when he arrived home at about 4 p.m. he found the sliding glass door in his apartment shattered.

     After a brief investigation the officers determined the window was broken by a BB gun pellet.  Further investigation indicated the gun was fired from a nearby apartment.  Officer Krouse identified a resident in that apartment, Pickett, and placed him under arrest.
