Flanders Fire and Rescue
starting advanced training
MOUNT OLIVE (2/29/08) – In an effort to further
improve the quality of their services, the
Flanders Fire Company and Rescue Squad is preparing to
conduct a one Saturday morning a month education program
for nine months with leading experts in
the field
of emergency medical services.
Captain
Heather Detoro said the Saturday morning program, to be
held in conjunction with Atlantic Training Center, a
subsidiary of Atlantic Health System, will begin on
March 29 and be held from 8:30 a.m. until Noon at the
Flanders Firehouse, 27 Main St.
Matters to be covered will range from pediatric care to
working with Atlantic’s aero-medical helicopter, Air
One.
“We
are grateful to have this opportunity to work with
Atlantic Training to provide the latest in EMS education
to our emergency caregivers, said Detoro. She pointed
out that Atlantic Training Center is part of Morristown
Memorial Hospital in Morristown and has long been a
source of high quality care and top notch education.
We’re pleased to partner with them,” she said.
The
first workshop will cover Scene Safety for EMS Providers
and will be presented by members of the Mount Olive
Police Department led by Officer Russell Hatzel. This
class is worth three continuing education units for EMS
