Isaac Cruz, a senior at Mount Olive High
School, recently had the opportunity to accompany
Senator Steven Oroho to Trenton as part of the school’s
program which encourages students to job shadow in an
area of their career choice. Isaac and Senator Oroho
are pictured in the Senate Chambers before a recent

MO Budget meeting Taxpayers express outrage At Mt. Olive Budget

MOUNT OLIVE (2/15/09) – To the
apparent surprise of the mayor and members of the township council
the largest number of people ever came to yesterday’s first of what
will be Saturday morning public review sessions during February of
the 2009-10 budget…all to complain angrily about increasing taxes.

new home.

Freeholders assist municipal alliances with drug
prevention efforts
(2/15/09) The Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders has
agreed to increase the county’s support of all municipalities in
their drug abuse prevention efforts, especially in these challenging
budgetary times. The freeholders Jan. 28 unanimously approved
supplemental funding for the municipal alliances to use locally in
helping youth in their towns make healthy choices. Full Story
Freeholders announce new rate for Morris Open Space
tax

The Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders on Jan. 28
approved a measure reducing the tax rate used to fund
the county’s Open Space, Farmland and Historic

Lenape Valley Interact Club Participated in
Special Olympics
STANHOPE (2/14/09) – The Lenape Valley Regional High
School Interact Club participated last month in the Special Olympics
program in the Mennen Area in Morris Plains. Club members assisted
the children and young adults in the speed skating event. Pictured
