Mount Olive to celebrate memorable Memorial Weekend 

     MOUNT OLIVE (5/22/08) – The highlight of this Memorial Day weekend will be the dedication and inauguration of the All Veterans Memorial, a unique monument honoring all veterans of all branches of service in all wars.  The ceremony will begin Sunday at 2 p.m. in Turkey Brook Park.

     The township’s annual Memorial Day Parade will begin Monday at 10 a.m. at the Chester M. Stephens Elementary School and proceed along Sunset Drive, turning left onto Carson Road, then right onto Pershing, anther right onto Flanders Road and right into Turkey Brook Park to the site of the All Veterans Memorial.

    The All Veterans Memorial is a project conceptualized nearly four years ago by Mrs. Charlene (Charlie) Wood Uhrmann and her son Eric, who undertook the memorial as an Eagle Scout project. 

    For Mrs. Uhrmann, the project, besides being a labor of love, has been a nearly full time project for the past two years.  From the outset Mrs. Uhrmann has seen the project as a patriotic  commitment as well as a magnificent asset for the township.
