MOUNT OLIVE (10/31/07) – It’s getting down to the
wire and decision time for Mount Olive Voters.
Unfortunately or fortunately, it’s been a noticeably
lackluster campaign even though all the candidates
have been working hard going door to door to speak
to voters. There are many who follow these type
things who believe that once again there will be a
low voter turnout in Mount Olive as elsewhere
because there is no national or gubernatorial
election and that would be terribly unfortunate.
Remember the mayoral election of 2003.

public hearing to restrict parking on Theresa Drive
to be held Nov. 27th
MOUNT OLIVE (10/23/07) – Parking by high school
students on roads around the high school still seem
to be a problem, this time its Theresa Drive.

MOUNT OLIVE (10/23/07) – For many years the township
has had serious problems and has spent considerable
amounts of money fighting what had appeared to be a
losing battle trying to control the growth of weeds
in Budd Lake.

Council purchasing three much needed pick up trucks
MOUNT OLIVE (10/23/07) – The Town Council had the
necessary two thirds majority votes to approve a
$116,830 bond ordinance for the purchase of three
trucks for the departments of public works and
buildings and grounds. Only one councilman, Phil
Tobey, voted against the purchase.

MOUNT OLIVE (10/21/07) –It was a dog’s day in Mount Olive
today but not for poor Allie, a rambunctious golden
retriever who was just a bit too friendly for a first
meeting to suit some of the other 50 or so pooches.

M.O. Council mulling purchase of 3 trucks;
cheaper than to repair
MOUNT OLIVE (10/18/07) – When the Township
Council meets Tuesday an
agenda item will be the purchase of three new trucks for the
departments of public works and building and grounds. Mayor
David Scapicchio and Township Administrator Bill Sohl
examined the trucks and have given the proposed purchase
their stamp of approval.
