MT. OLIVE (11/17/05) – School Board President Larry McEntee has reported significant progress in negotiations with the teachers union, which has been working without a contract since last June.

He said the board and the union have signed a "memorandum of agreement’ on a three year contract, but nothing definite has been agreed to concerning salary increases and terms. He said he expects a contract to be completed and ratified by the end of this year.

Sandra Wozniak, a middle school teacher who was one of the negotiators for the union agreed with McEntee that an understanding had been reached and that negotiations had been fair and professional.
