Public Library Activities

    Courses in Robotics are being offered by the award winning Mount Olive Robotics team in the Public Library.  For a list of courses and when they are being held e-mail Bill916@earthlkink.net.

    The Public Library Teen Advisory Group also is seeking middle school students to help select books, plan a teen space at the library, develop a teen web page and contribute to the library literary magazine “Buzz.” Interested?  Call (973)691-8686 for more information.  

         The Mount Olive “Story Time” registrations are presently being offered.  Story times are held during regular library hours and are open to the public for children from 9 months through kindergarten.  The library is planning stories, songs, play and craft activities appropriate to the age of the child.  Attendees should bring a Mount Olive library card.  For more information visit www.mopl.org

Food Pantry

    The township food pantry, located in the municipal building on Flanders-Drakestown Road is open Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to accept donations of non perishable food and clothing.  Bingo Nights

Cheerleading

Community Band for Seniors

   Seniors who play a musical instrument are invited to join a community band. Tri County Business Networking

    Business networking is being carried out every Thursday evening for just one hour starting at 7:30 p.m. in the Budd Lake Diner, Route 46. This independent networking affords opportunities to local businesses to expand their business contacts. Buy A Turkey Brook Paver

    The Mount Olive Park Pavers are offering residents, school groups, civic organizations and businesses an opportunity to memorialize a loved one, friend, or showcase a family with a name paver that will line the walkway in Turkey Brook Park by the Kids Kingdom Tot Lot.

Fun ‘n’ Friends Nursery School
    The non-profit Fun ‘n’ Friends Nursery School in the United Presbyterian Church, 58 Drakesdale Road, Flanders, is accepting registration for children for half day sessions.
    The programs are offered for children 21/2 to 4 with programs from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 12:30 to 3 p.m.

MOMS Club of Budd Lake for Stay at Home moms

Mount Olive Historical Society

  • The society presently is looking for older pictures of the Seward Mansion at Turkey Brook Park.

  • Photos with any portion of the structure are of special interest.  The society is in the process of obtaining an assessment of the structure; therefore, architects and preservation commissions are asking for photos.

Mount Olive PRIDE Council
      The Pride Council meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month in the cafeteria of the municipal building.  The public is invited to suggest ideas to promote pride in the township.

Mount Olive Kiwanis
      The Mount Olive Kiwanis meets at 12:15 the second Wednesday of every month at Perkins Restaurant, Route 46 East in Budd Lake.  The group also meets at 7:30 p.m. the first and third Thursdays of every month at Perkins Restaurant.  All are invited to attend and learn more.

Mt. Olive Child Care and Learning Center
     The Mount Olive Child Care and Learning Center, 150 Wolfe Road, Budd Lake is taking registrations for its programs which include infant, toddler, pre-school and before and after kindergarten.
   Programs also feature school age care programs based in the elementary and middle schools.  A sliding scale fee is offered. Call (973) 426-1525.

Senior Center Open 8:30 to 4:30
    The Mount Olive Senior Center in the Municipal Complex 204 Flanders-Drakestown Road is open each day, Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to all residents of the township 55 and older.
